TTC Lines Part 41: Sheppard-Yonge

Sheppard-Yonge Station, as the name suggests, is a connecting station between the Sheppard and Yonge-University Lines on the TTC.

When I was heading up to Sheppard-Yonge to take these photos, an announcement came on informing the passengers that the station had been closed due to a fire. I ended up taking a shuttle bus to Don Mills and tackling the stations in reverse order, hoping that Sheppard-Yonge would be back open by the time I arrived there.

The station re-opened fairly quickly, and so rather than entering the station from the Line 1 platform, I began here on the Line 4 platform -- a much quieter part of the station.

From there I made found my way to the Yonge-University trains so that I could take my last photos and the train back home.

While I was heading to the Line 1 platform I noticed that this station has dedicated signs for shuttle buses when the subway has been closed. I'm not sure if other transfer stations have this -- either way I think it's funny.

This is the end for Line 4 in this series, so I'll be continuing from Finch and taking the loop down all the way to the west end of Line 1. Hopefully by then the new stations will have opened.
